We set out scene in fair New Jersey - your author is set upon the beach reading a book and decides it is time to get a little sun on his back. He turns to his iPod Shuffle, skips to a Junkies podcast, and lies upon his stomach on his towel. Despite the bickering, use of sports stars’ names as sexual euphemisms, and general humor, our author falls half asleep in the warm sun. He lets his guard down.
The ocean strikes! Your author is consumed by a wave that pours onto the far reaches of the shore - a region once thought safe turned aquatic. His immediate thoughts turn to the 80 dollar piece of hardware in his pocket — JP, EB, Cakes, and the Lurch Papi Jason Bishop flooded!! But, to his amazement, the audio is not phased by the sea water and keeps playing. The iPod Shuffle takes the hit but continues on.
Needless to say, this author is quite pleased. He will keep you abreast of its functioning and hopes that the salt water doesn’t slowly eat away at its innards.
