Virtual Fools Reviews Chelada (Bud Light and Clamato)

When I visited Kevin the other weekend we undertook an old tradition: purchasing and trying novelty alcohol. Our distance has kept us from enjoying this practice for quite some time, so it was good to get back into the swing of it. And, for the first time ever, we’re able to share this with you via “video”. You see, there’s this thing called “The YouTube” that allows people to upload videos of anything they want! We were going to do some sort of lipsyncing, but I think that’s probably already been done. Instead we sample for you viewing pleasure the first taste of Budweiser’s Chelada. The word Chelada is derived from Michelada, which is a term used in Mexico to describe various prepared beers. In this case, the drink is similar to a Red Eye or a Canadian Caeser. Throw tomato juice and beer together, add in a hint of something else, and bam! Gross drink.

Chelada is Budweiser or Bud Light, Clamato, and a hint of lime and salt. Anheuser-Busch decided it would be a good idea to throw Chelada in some test markets and thankfully Raleigh, NC is one of those places. So, without further ado:

Entertaining and informative. Reminds me of the first (and last) time I tried Hempen Ale. I would have rather been attacked by Quetzacoatl.

P.S. – Kevin, how about a blog post on “Southland Tales”? You obviously got more out of it than I did…
